There’s one thing we can all safely agree on…..We want healthy glowing skin ! I’m mean, who doesn’t want show stopping glowing skin. So we are going to go over 5 simple steps that may help you kickstart some healthy skincare habits you are looking for. Let’s get glowing!
Drink Plenty of Water:
I know you hear this all the time. Right?! But it’s true, hydrating your skin from the inside out is super important. Drinking plenty of water can help flush out toxins to help improve the health of your skin and body. Sometimes drinking water can be difficult for some people, try infusing your water with fruits to add a little flavor. My personal favorite is lemon and cucumber water!
Moisturize your skin:
Now that your are drinking plenty of water, we can now work on hydrating externally. Applying a moisturizer to your face can increase the moisture level of the skin, preventing the skin from drying out. Sometimes choosing the right skincare product can be a hassle, but its important. Applying the wrong moisturizer can lead to breakouts and irritated skin. As I become older, my skin needs a little more TLC, cleaner, gentle, safe moisturizers that work. Remember, your skincare products should not hurt, it should work with your skin not against it.
P.S. Please do not use body lotion to moisturize your face.
Wear SPF ➡️ Everyday:
SPF (or Sun Protection Factor) is undeniably one the most important product in your beauty regime. When it comes to your skin it’s easier to prevent it then repair it. Sun exposure can be damaging to the skin and make it more prone to the signs of aging. I personally at one time hated using an SPF, I found them to be too heavy on the skin and left an ugly white film. However, the market now has amazing SPF that are lightweight and absorbs nicely. Do your research and ask for samples to see which SPF works best for you. Remember to get a broad spectrum with SPF 30 or higher even in the winter.
Exfoliate your Skin:
Exfoliation can leave your skin looking brighter by removing damaged and dead skin cells from the skins surface. It can also improve the effectiveness of the skincare products you use following your exfoliation, like serums and moisturizers. Regular exfoliation can also help prevent clogged pores, resulting in fewer breakouts.
Stop picking your skin:
Most people touch their face without realizing it, I get it! This task can be challenging for some people. Touching and picking your skin can spread germs, trigger breakouts and worsen pre-existing skin conditions. Try your best to keep your hands clean by washing your hands regularly to reduce the amount of bacteria you might put on your face.
While we only mentioned 5 points here, there are a ton of other steps you can take to achieve healthy glowing skin, like no smoking, cleaning your make up brushes, not sleeping with make up on, eating healthier foods, the list goes on. Glowing skin is a result of small steps we take daily to take care of our skin. You will need to be consistent and patient. Remember to keep your skincare regimen simple with clean, non-toxic, animal cruelty-free products!
See you next time babe!
